How Your Gift Makes A Difference

It takes a great variety of skills and talents, time and funds to be able to serve the many needs of the poor, the homeless, victims of domestic violence, seniors and youth and to provide jobs, classes, counseling and treatment. There are many ways you can become a resource for changing lives.

How to Support the Polish American Association Polish American Association could not make a difference in the lives of more than 3000 people each month if it were not for the time, talent and financial resources contributed by people like you. If you want to make a difference and help PAA to continue its work as "resources for changing lives," here are a few ways you can help:

WAYS TO GIVE:

Cash Gift - Your donation in any amount is welcome. Gifts totaling at least $250 over our fiscal year entitle you to membership in our Giving circles, and special membership benefits. Find out how your gift will make a difference.

  • Call our offices at 773-282-8206 x.315 to make a contribution using VISA or MasterCard.
  • Mail your contribution check, payable to Polish American Association, to the following address: Development Office, Polish American Association, 3834 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago, IL 60641
  • Donate online using your credit card to make a contribution.

Employee Matching Plan - If your employer matches charitable contributions, you will increase the impact of your gift simply by filling out your employer's matching form.

Bequest or Life Insurance - Polish American Association may be designated as the beneficiary of a portion of your estate or your life insurance policy.

Stocks, Bonds, or Real Property - A gift of appreciated property may allow a full charitable deduction while avoiding capital gains taxes.

Tribute or Memorial - Honor or memorialize a friend or loved one. Make a gift in his or her name and we will graciously notify the honoree or family members of your thoughtfulness. Contact the Development Office.

Donate your used vehicle - get free vehicle pick-up whether your car is running or not, qualify for an IRS tax deduction.

Sponsor or attend one of our Upcoming Special Events.

Contribute Goods or Services such as the items listed below or office products, auction items for our special events, or holiday gifts for our client families. Contact the Development Office: PAA is currently in need of the following items:

  • Used clothing of all sizes, especially for children 
  • Printing services for our newsletters and special events
Polish American Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. At Polish American Association, we take our responsibility to donors and clients seriously. We strive to be wise stewards of funds entrusted to us. PAA is effective and takes pride in its efficiency - 94 percent of our funding is used for directly serving clients' needs. OTHER WAYS TO HELP:
Volunteers are needed for the following:

Governance Senior and mid level executives who have experience on corporate or community boards in setting policy and raising funds.

English Literacy Tutors You can provide English language instruction to 2-3 adults at a time and location convenient to you and your students; training and on-going support will be provided to you. Learn more.

Fundraising Events Help plan special events: volunteer recruitment; marketing and communications; graphic design; telephone and mail preparation.

Interpreters Use your Polish language skills to accompany seniors or other newcomers to medical or government appointments.

Food Pantry Prepare food packages for weekly distribution on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Medical Services Doctors and nurses perform routine physical and dental examinations for annual Back to School Health Fair.

Employers - Place announcements of job openings suitable for limited English speaking persons with PAA's Employment Department.
