PAA’s English as a Second Language curriculum consists of courses approved by the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) and designed to include instruction in English for educationally disadvantaged and limited-English speaking immigrants. The Polish American Association offers classes on all levels from beginner to advanced. The courses include a curriculum in listening, speaking, reading and writing in the English language and focus on developing skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency. The curriculum is designed to accommodate the concept of open entry/open exit individualized instruction. In September 2009 the Polish American Association added to its offer Adult Basic Education classes which provide more instruction in reading and writing in the English Language. These classes aim to prepare students for the possibility of continuing education in colleges and trade schools. Registration for our classes starts every year on the first working day of August. The classes begin in September and continue till the end of June. All classes and materials provided during school year are free of charge. Northwest Side locations:
