Volunteers Needed for the Homeless Count

 

 

 

Volunteers Needed!!! Volunteers needed to participate in 2014 count/survey of unsheltered homeless in public spaces at Northwest Side of Chicago.

When: January 22, 2014 From 9pm-2am
Where: City of Chicago, Northwest Area
Why: Results from count/survey will be used for:

  • Service planning
  • Demonstrating the need for resources
  • Raising public awareness about homelessness
  • Identifying and measuring the needs of the homeless population in Chicago

Volunteers are expected to attend the training prior to the count (at Polish American Association , 3834 N. Cicero Ave, 7:00pm); during the count, they will canvass a designated area of the city in teams and count/survey unsheltered homeless people in the public space. Teams will consist of three or more people, at least one of whom will be an experienced outreach worker or consumer.
