DACA To Continue - For Now

Today the Supreme Court, in a 5-4 ruling, blocked the Trump administration's attempt to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), an Obama-era program that protects hundreds of thousands of immigrants brought to the US as children, from deportation.

The decision was written by Chief Justice John Roberts and joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor.

The court's ruling will allow the DACA recipients to continue to renew membership every two years in the program that offers them work authorization and temporary protection from deportation.

Despite today’s decision, we must remain vigilant. President Trump has indicated that he will continue to fight DACA and deny citizenship to the young men and women, including a PAA intern, who are the emerging leaders of their generation.

The Dreamers are working hard to achieve their American Dream. Please help them by DONATING to the PAA so that we may continue to advocate for their citizenship.
