Position Summary:

Provide strong management and leadership skills to ensure the quality of professional services. The Social Services Director will manage all administrative functions necessary to secure and maintain program funding maintain program quality, and oversee the professional delivery of all clinical and supportive services within the Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program management:

  • Provide leadership to staff, agency and community in the provision of relevant social services,
  • Enhance existing revenue streams and identify new alternative sources of funding.
  • Prepare proposals, applications and other materials needed for programs’ funding,
  • Review, evaluate and implement procedures needed to ensure the high quality of services and performance improvement,
  • Plan, evaluate and assess service needs to refine present programs and develop new services,
  • Provide leadership to staff in implementation of new initiatives and projects.

Advocacy, community outreach and networking:

  • Represent the agency in meetings and events with elected representatives, public and private agencies and prospective donors,
  • Disseminate information about the needs of the Polish-American community to relevant organizations and partners,
  • Attend networking meetings and conduct community outreach,

Data collection

  • Collect, organize and manage client data and program outcome metrics.
  • Prepare external and internal reports as required by funding sources and PAA’s Executive Director.
  • Performs all other duties as necessary and assigned by the Executive Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement staff training program,
  • Conduct performance appraisal reviews for Clinical Services Supervisor and Supportive Services Supervisor.

Job Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director,
  • Collaborate with other programs directors.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Direct experience responding to RFPs and applying for local, state and federal grants,
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in social service delivery,
  • Require 3 years’ administrative experience,
  • Minimum of a master’s degree in social work or related field,
  • Illinois LCSW or LCPC preferred, but not required,
  • Training/certifications as required by State law, to supervise substance abuse treatment and domestic violence programs may be required.

Qualification Requirements

  • Strong administrative and leadership skills,
  • Ability to relate to community, state, and local social service networks,
  • Comfortable speaking to groups,
  • Flexible, and able to pivot as needed in complex environment.

Language Skills

  • Bilingual in Polish is a plus, but not required.

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and various databases.

Physical Demands:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Work in an office environment and attend meetings and events outside the agency
  • Work during evening hours and weekends may be required
