Volunteers Wanted!

Become a volunteer and join the PAA community in providing the resources for changing lives.

We offer many opportunities for making positive changes in the community, including public advocacy, helping with the food pantry, and working on citizenship and immigration. Volunteers are needed for the following:

  • Office Help- general administration, Internet, Facebook, faxing, copying
  • ESL - work with data base of the clients and check up their records
  • Fundraising Events -marketing and communications; graphic design; calling to prospective attendees
  • Interpreters -use your Polish language skills to accompany clients or other newcomers to medical or government appointments
  • Food Pantry -prepare food packages for weekly distribution on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings
  • Immigration – Citizenship and other workshop preparation and participation (some Saturdays)

PAA Junior Board Election!

The election of President, Vice President and Secretary of the Junior Board of Polish American Association will take place soon! The Board is currently seeking potential candidates whom it can recommend to vacant Board positions. We are hoping to propose additional candidates at our upcoming meetings, and it will vote on all candidates presented. The Board welcomes everyone. Please think carefully about whether you'd like to become a potential candidate to fill a vacant Board position.

Requirements:

  • Be actively involved in at least one area of Junior Board activities or programs,
  • Plan and attend regularly-scheduled monthly Board meetings,
  • Volunteer for and participate in at least one Board committee,
  • Think creatively about ways in which JPPAA may better serve its members and the greater Chicago community, and be prepared to turn those thoughts into action.

Board members typically serve a two-year term.
