The Journalism Intern is responsible for assisting the Advancement and Administrative Teams in planning, creating, and coordinating a Quarterly Newsletter.
Intern will earn experience in:
Creating interesting and relevant online posts about relevant news and topics
Assisting with editorial projects and providing support to the editors.
Pitching content ideas
Brainstorming work with regard to campaigns, site design, and content generation
Fact-checking, story research, event coverage, and short magazine writing assignments
Writing for various sections of the newsletter, when needed
Build your professional portfolio & getting published
Researching potential opportunities that are tailored to the PAA’s mission
The ideal candidate would be:
Exceptional in writing and editing skills, sharp analytic skills, meticulous attention to detail and factual accuracy
Able to manage priorities and multi task effectively
Work well independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office, and various Social Media Platforms
Able to work within a deadline-structured position
Good at communicating for dealing with diverse staff.
Brownie Points for the candidate who:
Is working on their Bachelors in: Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, English, or another applicable field
Is proficient in PhotoShop, Adobe Premiere Pro, or have Graphic Design experience
